The PTA ( Parent-Teacher Association ) of El Roc Petit Nursery in the Hostalets de Balenyà was willing to redesign the school’s playground in order to correct certain problems associated with its initial design that conditioned its use, such as a lack of shady areas,  poor drainage, or the unsuitability of the equipment meeting children ages between 0 and 3 years. On the other hand, they were also wiling to turn the playground into a more social, leisure-related but pedagogical area.

From the gathering of ideas and objectives raised by the team of teachers, the representatives of the PTA and the rest of the parents involved, we designed a simple and natural playground that promotes play, creativity, contemplation and psychomotor skills. With the changes carried out in the playground, children are provided with a space that offers the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally and psychically ; Nowadays, children can move around freely, and the versatility of the new design allows for different learning opportunities in a natural outdoor environment.
